What's real? and how do we know it? FREE WORKSHOP


The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum Education Department is offering a FREE WORKSHOP to teachers entitled, "What's real? And how do we know it?"  From their email:

Staff historians will present examples and methods of identifying primary sources and how to use them in today's classroom.

Attending teachers will receive 6 CPDU's.

Workshop participants will examine and discuss:

  • Documents from our collections

  • An 1830's New Salem newspaper

  • Presidential Library Manuscript holdings

  • Newspapaer and Microfilm

  • Political cartoons

Attendeeds will also learn about the benefits and potential pitfalls of using oral history

Date: Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Time: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
